This Christmas everyone in my family cooked enough food to feed a small army. The amount of goodies has not only made my pants tighter, I also am trying to not fall into a sugar coma. Here are a few samples of the goodness.
This was one of my platters, Peanut Butter Cup Brownies, Pumpkin Cream Pies, Decorated Christmas Cookies, and Red Velvet Fudge. The fudge was kinda a flop, but was ok. The rest, one word, divine.
Anyways, my mother, that woman is trying to give my the sugars. She filled the snowman tins with everyone's favorite goodies. Mine contained Peanut Butter Balls, these ooey gooey bars I absolutely love, Vanilla covered pretzels and Jelly. Oh so much Jelly. Last but not least my absolute favorite, Cinnamon Pears. I'm going to die form all the sugar, Help! Just kidding, stay away. I mean it. Git!
My nannie, bless her soul, she made everyone care packages, like we are a bunch of starving orphans. Give me a break. They were these huge boxes of candy, homemade treats, and spiced tea. It was wonderful and about made me comatose.
At my grandma's house, the amount of food she made literally would not fit on the plate. You had to take turns with your plate to fit all the food. And then she would yell at you because you didn't eat enough. So we would begrudgingly pass our plates around, again. Can you hear the sarcasm? Because I'm pretty sure none of us really put up too much of a fight when we piled more food on our plates for the third time.
We also went to visit my brother in Denver and ate some more! We had a home cooked meal every night, literally snacked all day long. It was downright slovenly, but oh so good.
I am so thankful for all of our family visits and look forward to gaining back all the weight it took me all year to lose next year.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and happy new year.
