Look at these faces

Look at these faces! What are they thinking?
Friends forever
Just wait till mom's not looking
Is Riley snapping at Reese? "Pay attention, picture time!"

I'm a little afraid to know exactly what they were thinking.

This is "No Name"

A stray wondered up to our house the other day. He was very shy, starved, hadn't drank or ate in days, very obvious signs of neglect and abuse. He was pitiful. I showed him where the food was. He instantly buried his mouth in the dog bowl like it was his last meal. The other dogs were just sniffing and wondering who he was, he instantly got defensive and was growling. Luckily our dogs are very friendly and I told them to leave him alone while he ate. Suprisingly they did. They just layed in the garage patiently waiting for him to finish. Once he finished, I showed him where the water was and he drank about 3 gallons of water. Following behind us were 3 dogs waiting to play with the new guy. At first he wouldn't come to me and he would cower down like I was going to hit him anytime I would try to pet him. When he finally let me get close, you could see and feel all his bones. He has a few teeth either knocked out or fallen out due to neglect, diet, who knows. His collar was as tight as it could be. He was just a pitiful looking dog. Well, now he has been here about 3 weeks. He has gained some weight. The vet came out to look over him and give him all his shots. She said he is about 6 or 7. I had no idea his history or if he had ever had any shots. He allows the girls and BJ to pet him now. He is still pretty scared of the girls but I think that is due to their volume not their treatment of him. The girls have officially named him "no name". When this dog showed up the girls immediately wanted to name him. BJ said no we can't name him because we are going to find him a new home. So, the girls started calling him "no name". Now BJ calls him by that "name". The dog answers to that "name". The dog with no name is officially "no name".

He really is the sweetest dog. Somebody was really mean to him at some point and he was probably dumped out near our house. His only problem, he has cow dog in him and he just can't quite contain himself around the cows and calves. He does fine as long as they are not near the fence around our house. He feels it is his duty to run them off in a herd like fashion and he means business. He also can't help himself when the calves chase him. The calves think it's a game, they are young and innocent and think trash bags are interesting. So, they don't know any better. Our other dogs know to leave them alone and don't bother them at all. But, "no name" has other plans. Some days he doesn't do it at all and then some days he has to stay in time out all day. Anyways, he is up for adoption. I have not had him fixed yet, but he does have all his shots. If anyone is looking for a special friend or knows someone else, let me know. He is looking for his forever home. As long as there is food and a easy hand, he will be loyal forever. The dog with no name, literally.

Riley's PreK Program

Riley had her 1st program last night. She wasn't the most overly active child there but she didn't hide with her hands in her pockets either. I thought she did great. She isn't shy at home but in front of people is a different story. She overcame and did wonderful. It was quite hilarious watching these kids singing and doing the movements. Some kids are up there break dancing and one kid I'm pretty sure was asleep or in a coma or something. They sang about 7 songs to a packed out auditorium. AM class went first and then PM went second.
Riley in her special PreK shirt. Look at Reese's headband, she was bound and determined to wear one like Riley.

Pepperoni Pizza song. The kids are telling us "oh no, the pizza sauce spilled"
"What are we going to do?"
 "Oh No!"

 Okie Pokie
A Tooty Ta, A Tooty Ta, A Tooty Ta Ta

 Goodbye Song
 YeeHaw!
She is telling everyone her name is Riley and she wants to be a dentist when she grows up. She informed me of this the other day and told me she could clean my teeth anytime I wanted. No charge.

The cool thing about this program is Mrs. Ousley, one of the helpers now, has been a PreK teacher for many, many years. I'm pretty sure my brother Will did this exact same program like 15 years ago. She has been doing this program for a long time and it really was neat to see the kids perform.

I Know

I know I have been terribly bad about posting lately. It has been a little hectic around here between doctor appointments, heifers calving, the huge amount of snot from everybody, church, the fact I am trying to work out again which is an astronomical feat in itself, and list of 8 million other things, needless to say I haven't even really been on my computer. I have been check ing my email at either 7 am or 10pm making sure it's nothing extremely important and then either running to start the day or collapsing in bed. I know 10 pm pathetic right. Well I don't care I'm tired! Anyways, I am going to start doing better. Here is a post for Riley's Pre K Program, which was a hoot.
